Bio:
Dr. Shahnaz Miri is a highly trained and experienced neurologist and Neuro-Ophthalmologist with expertise in the evaluation and management of neuro-ophthalmic disorders and movement disorders. She holds an MD from Tehran University of Medical Sciences, and completed a neurology residency at Georgetown University in a clinician-scientist track with NIH-NINDS. She went on to complete fellowship training in movement disorders at Georgetown University and Neuro-Ophthalmology at the Bascom Palmer Eye Institute, University of Miami Health. In addition to her clinical training, Dr. Miri holds MBA degree in Information Technology Management. This unique combination of medical and business expertise has allowed her to excel in both clinical care, entrepreneurship, innovation, and the business of medicine. After completing her training, Dr. Miri began working at the Wilmer Eye Institute, Johns Hopkins Medicine, where she served as an Assistant Professor of Ophthalmology and Neurology in the Division of Neuro-Ophthalmology. She worked in this role for over a year before moving to San Francisco, where she established the "Vision Neurology Center". At the Vision Neurology Center, Dr. Miri focuses on providing expert care to patients with a wide range of neuro-ophthalmic disorders. Additionally, Dr. Miri also treats patients with Botulinum toxin injections for conditions such as blepharospasm and hemifacial spasm. She is dedicated to providing comprehensive, expert care to her patients and to advancing the field of Neuro-Ophthalmology through her clinical work and research. She has published extensively on a variety of topics related to Neuro-Ophthalmic disorders, and is highly regarded by her peers for her expertise and dedication to her patients.

Dr. Miri is a board certified neurologist. She has completed Neurology Residency training at Medstar health, Georgetown University Medical Center in a clinician-scientist track with rotations at National Institute of Health. She was chief administrative resident at the last year of Neurology training.
Dr. Miri completed Neuro-Ophthalmology fellowship training at the renowned Bascom Palmer Eye Institute, which is consistently ranked as the number one eye hospital in the United States. Dr. Miri was an Assistant Professor of Ophthalmology and Neurology at Wilmer Eye Institute, Johns Hopkins Medicine.
Dr. Miri completed a sub-specialty fellowship training in Movement Disorders at Georgetown University Medical Center, with expertise in diagnosing and treating neurological conditions such as Parkinson's disease, dystonia, tremors, with personalized treatment planning including medical treatment and Botulinum toxin treatment.
Dr. Miri has completed a Master of Business Administration (MBA) program in Information Technology (IT) Management with a focus on health technology innovation. This training has equipped her with a unique skillset to identify innovative solutions that integrate technology and healthcare in ways that can improve patient care and outcomes.
Dr. Shahnaz Miri has conducted research in different areas of neurology, including Parkinson's disease, restless legs syndrome, deep brain stimulation and vision research.
Her studies focus on identifying new biomarkers and improving diagnostic yield for neurological disorders, including Parkinson's disease, Alzheimer's disease, and Huntington's disease. Dr. Miri has also published studies on the use of deep brain stimulation for the treatment of dystonia.
In addition to his research on neurology, Dr. Miri has conducted a comprehensive review of the COVID-19 pandemic and its impact on the geriatric population. Her work in this area highlights the challenges faced by older adults during the pandemic.
