How it works
How virtual neuro-ophthalmology works.
- Step 1
Referral or consultation request
Patients may contact the practice directly by phone or through the secure consultation request form. Referrals and records may also be faxed to (415) 800-4942.
- Step 2
Secure record collection
When available, patients are asked to provide recent eye examination records, visual field testing, OCT/optic nerve imaging, fundus photographs, and relevant neuroimaging (MRI or CT). A secure portal link is provided for uploading records and imaging reports; records may also be faxed directly to the practice.
- Step 3
Intake
A structured intake call is completed prior to the consultation to review symptoms, medical history, prior evaluations, and relevant testing.
- Step 4
Video consultation & recommendations
Dr. Miri reviews your history, prior testing, imaging, and available ophthalmic records, and performs a focused virtual examination when appropriate. Assessment and recommendations will be discussed and, when appropriate, coordinated with the referring ophthalmologist, optometrist, neurologist, or primary physician.
Important note
Virtual neuro-ophthalmology does not replace an emergency evaluation or a complete in-person eye examination. Additional in-person testing or examination may still be recommended when clinically necessary.
Care coordination
Working alongside your local clinicians.
Dr. Miri works closely with local ophthalmologists, optometrists, neurologists, and imaging centers to clarify diagnosis and guide next steps.
