Biography
Dr. Shahnaz Miri is a highly trained and experienced neurologist and neuro-ophthalmologist with expertise in the evaluation and management of neuro-ophthalmic disorders and movement disorders.
She holds an MD from Tehran University of Medical Sciences and completed a neurology residency at Georgetown University in a clinician-scientist track with NIH-NINDS. She went on to fellowship training in movement disorders at Georgetown and in neuro-ophthalmology at the Bascom Palmer Eye Institute, University of Miami Health.
Dr. Miri also holds an MBA in Information Technology Management. This unique combination of medical and business expertise has allowed her to excel in clinical care, entrepreneurship, innovation, and the business of medicine.
After completing her training, Dr. Miri served as an Assistant Professor of Ophthalmology and Neurology at the Wilmer Eye Institute, Johns Hopkins Medicine, in the Division of Neuro-Ophthalmology. She later moved to San Francisco where she established Vision Neurology Center.
She is dedicated to providing comprehensive, expert care and to advancing the field of neuro-ophthalmology through her clinical work and research.
